Review of Last Breath (The Morganville Vampires #11) by Rachel Caine

Overview
The brand-new novel in the “intriguing world” (Darque Reviews) of Rachel Caine’s New York Times bestselling Morganville Vampires series!

With her boss preoccupied researching the Founder Houses in Morganville, student Claire Danvers is left to her own devices when she learns that three vampires have vanished without a trace. She soon discovers that the last person seen with one of the missing vampires is someone new to town—a mysterious individual named Magnus. After an uneasy encounter with Morganville’s latest resident, Claire is certain Magnus isn’t merely human. But is he a vampire—or something else entirely?

About  Last Breath
As always, Last Breath, of all the other Morganville Vampire books begin with how things in Morganville are ruled by vampires and how things go if your to be a resident. If you are to be a resident then you'll definitely be at the mercy of all the vampires.

I'm a deep lover of The Morganville Vampires and of course of Rachel Caine, so I was looking forward to this one so much. Once I started it there was the added information that Michael and Eve are going to soon get married and while to them its something to look forward to, they aren't prepared to be met by resistance coming from the town because a vampire and human should just not be.

There are many reasons why the vampires are against Eve (a human) marrying Michael (a vampire) since in the past there was a very big disaster with it. You'll be seeing Eve and Michael's point of view as they go through their issues. These while very emotional added depth to the story.

Throughout Last Breath, the town of Morganville, Texas it becomes rather gloomy. Even dead, as a danger from the past haunts not only vampires but humans as well. These new beings are by far the deadliest predators since vampires.

This time around Claire Danvers isn't our main point of view as it was throughout most of the other books. We get to be in the minds of Shane, Michael, Eve, and yes even Ameelie. Shane as always is a sarcastic, cynical? guy, Michael is the mostly calm guy of the group of  Claire's friends. While, Eve is still going strong with her gothic outlook on life.

Last Breath was a book that was highly anticipated this November. While I thought it be magnificent. It was a bit lagging. But make no mistake I enjoyed reading on my e-reader and smiled a lot from a few humorous quips in the story. Also loved when there was Myrnin since he's the one with an interesting personality but the story just went in a new direction. Yes, I'm very conflicted! So, I'm trying to get to a point of where I am with the new changes. Still enjoyed. Thought it was a good read for the most part.
Overall: Good read
Genre: Young Adult, Vampires, Romance, Mythical Creatures, Urban Fantasy
